Police have seized knives, drugs and stolen goods, during a two-day operation on the South Coast.
On Wednesday 6 May 2026, officers attached to Police Transport Command, with assistance from South Coast Police District conducted a retail theft operation around Nowra CBD and South Nowra.

The following results were achieved;
23 people arrested
33 charged laid including shoplifting offences, possession of prohibited drugs, possess knife in a public place and outstanding warrants.
18 person searches were conducted
8 move on directions were issued.

On Thursday 7 May 2026, officers attached to Police Transport Command with assistance from the South Coast Police District conducted a handheld scanning operation at Nowra and Bomaderry CBDs and surrounding shopping precinct between 8am and 8pm.
Operation Savete is a high visibility operation where officers use handheld scanners or electronic metal-detecting ‘wands’.
The following results were achieved;
1 knives seized
1 infringements issued
