Hume Highway roadworks

Motorists are advised of upcoming changed traffic conditions on the Hume Highway at Marulan and George Street in Marulan for upgrade work.

On the Hume Highway near Medway Road, the work will include building a crossover vegetation removal, drainage installation, earthworks and road resurfacing. On sections of George Street from the northbound service centre to the Medway Road roundabout, the road surface, line marking and drainage will be upgraded.

To minimise the impact on motorists, work will be carried out at night on the Hume Highway between 7pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday, from Sunday 16 August for about three weeks, weather permitting.

During the work, single lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.

A reduced speed limit of 80 km/h will be in place outside of work hours. There will be no lane closures between Friday mornings and Sunday evenings.

Work will be carried out onGeorge Street at night between 7pm and 5am for three shifts from Tuesday 1 to Thursday 4 September, weather permitting.

Work will then continue during the day between 6am and 5pm on weekdays from Monday 7 September for a further two weeks, weather permitting.

During the work, a single lane closure and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place on George Street. Access to the northbound service centre, heavy vehicle parking area and Marulan town centre will be maintained and managed under traffic control.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, follow the directions of signs and traffic control and allow five minutes of additional travel time during each work period.
