A major new health offensive is being launched to reach residents across the South Coast and Southern Highlands who are living with hepatitis B to obtain diagnosis and treatment.
The ‘Hep B – Get Tested’ campaign comes as estimates reveal around 220,000 people in Australia have the condition, although nearly a third (31%) are currently undiagnosed.
Hepatitis Australia CEO, Lucy Clynes, says they’ll be focusing on locations with high rates of hepatitis B, as well as culturally and linguistically diverse communities in regional areas.
