The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) is saying a big ‘Thank You!’ to nurses this May, holding appreciation lunches at hospitals across Australia, including Bowral and District Hospital.

To commemorate International Nurses Day, RRT volunteers served 300 meals to the hard-working and dedicated staff.

Moss Vale Local Team Leader Andrew Harrison said the special lunch was about showing gratitude to those who do so much for their community.

“We are saying to nurses, we see the important job you do, working around the clock to care for people when they need it most, and we really appreciate it,” said Andrew.

“It’s all about putting that appreciation into action, encouraging nurses to take a well-earned break and enjoy a delicious meal with their colleagues.

“The theme of International Nurses Day 2026 is ‘Empowered Nurses Save Lives’, which really emphasises just how important it is that we take care of those who give so much to take care of others.”

RRT expects to serve more than 12,000 meals at more than 35 International Nurses Day lunches at hospitals across Australia this month.
