Whale rescued from fishing trap line off the South Coast

A whale has been freed from a tangled fish trap line between Bawley Point and Batemans Bay.

A crew from Marine Rescue in the Bay tracked the humpback yesterday morning around pretty Beach until colleagues from Ulladulla arrived with specialists from the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

The giant of the ocean was first reported in distress off Bondi last weekend.
