This is a first glimpse of a giant mural that will add a vibrant touch to the walkway under the new Nowra Bridge that spans the Shoalhaven River.
First nation’s artist Glenn Duffield said ‘It’s a 21 metre long artwork that features designs from TAFE cultural arts students.”
The Naidoc Week theme ‘For Our Elders’ is a central focus in the mural.
The artwork is inspired by the Shoalhaven River and its aquatic life as was as the region’s flora and fauna.
Mr Duffield said ” It will also link tribes on either side of the river.”
15 individual 2.4 metre high panels will make up the mural when it is complete.
Mr Duffield’s artistic skill can also been seen on murals at the Bomaderry Sporting Complex and in Berry.
