The search for a man who reportedly did not resurface after being swept into the water near the Kiama blowhole, has concluded.
About 6.45pm on Tuesday (2 May 2023), emergency services responded to reports a 72-year-old man had been rock fishing before being swept off the rocks and failing to resurface.
Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District commenced an extensive search of the water and surrounding area, with assistance from Marine Area Command, Kiama Surf Life Savers, NSW Ambulance paramedics and Polair, however no one was located.
