Shadow Minister for Transport Jo Haylen joined Labor’s candidate for South Coast Liza Butler to promise funding for better roads, footpaths and cycleways across the South Coast.

A Chris Minns Labor government will commit $12 million towards the planning and early works of the East Nowra Sub Arterial linking East Nowra to the Nowra CBD and deliver another $5 million over four years to Shoalhaven City Council to fund vital footpaths across the South Coast.

Labor’s funding for South Coast footpaths will support footpath projects in Kioloa, Callala, Dolphin Point, Myolla, Narrawallee and on Old Southern Road in Nowra.

Ms Butler said, ” I am delighted that Labor is announcing support for the East Nowra Sub Arterial Road. It will make a real difference for businesses and local residents alike and it is important that we get started while the future by-pass is still in the planning stages.’

She said, “Our community will benefit significantly from this windfall of footpath funding from Chris Minns and Labor. This funding will ensure that essential footpath projects which make our community more accessible and safer go ahead.”
