Bundle Hill bushfire under control

Shoalhaven RFS Crews have been deployed to the Far South Coast to fight a large bushfire near Bermagui.

The RFS has confirmed homes have been destroyed in that blaze.

Local crews meanwhile, are keeping close watch on a blaze near Bawley Point, that’s has burned out 130 hectares of bush.

Water bombing aircraft, including the NSW Rural Fire Service’s including a Chinook Helicopter and intensive back burning have helped fire fighters bring the Bundle Hill Bushfire under control.

The new Chinook Chopper was able to dump up to 10-thousand litres of water onto the blaze, that was burning in difficult terrain.

RFS and NSW Fire and rescue crews yesterday put in containment lines to manage the outbreak.

The RFS Shoalhaven Superintendent Matt Reeve said, “says “Crews remain on scene and depending upon the amount of rain over coming days, work will continue to ensue the fire is secured.”
