The Australia Defence Force is hosting the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force as part of Exercise Talisman Sabre 2023 in a live fire event at Jervis Bay.
The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force will test fire a Type 12 Surface-to-Ship Missile from Beecroft Weapons Range.
The launch will happen from a truck-mounted system into the East Australia Exercise Area off the coast of Jervis Bay.

This will be the missile’s first test in Australia.
An ADF spokesperson said the missile will not be carrying explosive ordnance.
The launch will happen between 8am and midday tomorrow.
The AF said noise disturbances will be minimised where possible and it thanks the community for its patience and cooperation.
