An office sod turning event at the site of the Hume Highway on and off ramps from Wilton including a new three-lane bridge over the motorway to North Wilton.
Landcom, the developer of the Panorama project in North Wilton, is responsible for fully funding this infrastructure. Landcom has engaged Seymour Whyte Constructions as its principal contractor, with work to progress rapidly with a target completion in late 2027.
Upon completion, maintenance of the bridge and ramps will be the responsibility of Transport for NSW, rather than Wollondilly Shire Council.
Also, the existing Niloc Bridge over the Hume Highway will be converted to a dedicated walking and cycling bridge, separating pedestrians and cyclists from vehicular traffic resulting in improved safety.
Member for Wollondilly Judy Hannan said, “This significant road infrastructure would provide road, cycling and pedestrian connectivity to the new high school for Wollondilly, new public school and preschool in Wilton.”
Other benefits include faster, direct connectivity for Wilton residents to Campbelltown and Sydney CBD.
