Detectives have seized drugs and weapons following a search warrant in the Southern Highlands.
In March 2026, detectives attached to The Hume Police District commenced an investigation into the supply of drugs in the Welby area and intimidation offences in the Mittagong area.
About 7.30am yesterday (Wednesday 25 March 2026), detectives attached to the Hume Police District with assistance from Southern Region Operational Support Group executed a search warrant at a home on Kell Crescent, Welby.
During a search of the home, officers allegedly located and seized an amount of methylamphetamine, cannabis GHB, and four cannabis plants.
Police arrested the occupant – a 39-year-old man – who was taken to Moss Vale Police station.
He was charged with 10 offences;
- Supply prohibited drug more than indictable & less than commercial quantity (two counts)
- Possess prohibited drug (three counts)
- Possess prohibited plant less than small quantity
- Possess / attempt to, prescribed restricted substance
- Owner / occupier knowingly allow use as drug premises
- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit
He was refused bail and will appear before Bail Division Court 3 today (Thursday 26 March 2026).
About 8am, detectives attended a home on Myrtle Street, Colo Vale wherre they arrested a 29—year-old man, and a home on Cumberteen Street, Hill Top, where they arrested a 25-year-old man.
They were taken to Southern Highlands Police Station where the older man was charged with;
- use offensive weapon in company with intent indictable
- stalk / intimidate intend fear physical harm
- drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
The younger man was charged with;
- Stalk / intimidate intend fear physical harm
- Custody of a knife in public place
- Use offensive weapon in company with intent indictable offence.
Both men were refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 3 yesterday Wednesday 25 March 2026, where they were formally refused bail to reappear before the same court today Thursday 26 March 2026.
