Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman today congratulated Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews and the Moss Vale community on the completion of the $2 million upgrade to the Moss Vale Fire Station, marking a significant investment in the safety, capability and long-term resilience of local emergency services.
Mrs Tuckerman said the modernised station reflects the dedication and professionalism of local firefighters, whose work continues to protect people, property and the environment across the Southern Highlands.

“This upgrade is a testament to the extraordinary work our firefighters do,” Mrs Tuckerman said.
“They deserve the very best facilities, equipment and support and I want to thank every firefighter, volunteer, and emergency services worker for their service to our community. This upgrade is their achievement as much as it is the Government’s.”
The rebuild brings the 1971-era station up to contemporary standards, providing improved safety, accessibility, and space to accommodate today’s larger and more advanced firefighting fleet.
Key improvements include:
- An expanded engine bay to house larger modern fire trucks
- A new dedicated building for the station’s bushfire tanker
- Upgraded storage and safety facilities, including new PPE rooms, a breathing apparatus storeroom, and laundry
- Modern locker rooms, bathrooms and kitchen facilities supporting a diverse workforce
Mrs Tuckerman said the investment will strengthen emergency response capability across the region.
“We know how vital fast, skilled emergency response is, particularly in the Southern Highlands, where bushfires and severe weather events are real and ongoing risks. These upgrades will help our firefighters continue their exceptional work safely and effectively for decades to come.”
“Whether it’s responding to house fires, road accidents, storm damage or community emergencies, our emergency services personnel show extraordinary courage and professionalism. This upgrade recognises that, and supports them with the infrastructure they need to keep our communities safe.”
Mrs Tuckerman congratulated FRNSW leadership and local crews for their dedication throughout the project and their ongoing commitment to public safety.
“Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this project to life. Moss Vale firefighters now have a station that truly reflects their skill, their commitment, and the respect our community holds for them.”
