North Shoalhaven Meals on Wheels Shares the Spirit of the Season

December 10, 2025 9:42 am in by

North Shoalhaven Meals on Wheels is delighted to announce that all 500 of our clients will be receiving a complimentary two-course meal this season, reminding every client that they are valued, appreciated, and truly “worth something special.”

This gesture has been made possible thanks to the extraordinary generosity of local companies and community members. Their support throughout the year has allowed us to deliver approximately 20% more meals than we are funded to provide, ensuring that no one in our community goes without. We extend a very big and heartfelt thank you to every organisation and individual who has stood beside us. We are proud to be part of such a caring and supportive community.

In the lead-up to Christmas, we are also preparing festive hampers for our clients, thanks to donations received especially for the season. Anyone wishing to sponsor a hamper or make a contribution is warmly invited to donate through our website or call our office on 4422 5111 and speak with Angela.

The Meals Together program continues to flourish, now averaging at least two activities per month and involving up to 50 clients at each gathering. The friendships and connections formed this year have been priceless, and new participants are always welcomed with open arms. We are excited to be expanding the program with new small-group activities in the coming year.

This year, we also had the privilege of celebrating three 100th birthdays with our clients—a reminder of the incredible lives we encounter every day and a testament to the fact that Meals on Wheels is so much more than a delivery service.

As always, our greatest resource is our volunteers. Their dedication, kindness, and commitment make everything we do possible. We also continue to have a great need for more volunteers. If you’ve ever considered helping out, now is the perfect time—make the call. Volunteering is good for the community, and it’s good for you.
