How do you celebrate Christmas in the Shoalhaven – a barbecue on the beach, a family picnic in a park, or something completely different?
Council is calling on all Shoalhaven budding young artists to join our inaugural Christmas Card competition, with entries closing on Friday 30 October.
“This is a great opportunity for young people to use their imagination and create an original Christmas-themed artwork that depicts how you celebrate the festive season in the Shoalhaven,” Mayor Patricia White said.
“Maybe it’s Santa at the beach, a Christmas kangaroo, a festive family picnic, our beautiful bushland, or a summer sunset. I encourage you to get involved in this fun competition. There’s some great prizes on offer,” Cr White said.
Winning designs will feature on Council’s Christmas cards. The cards will also be sold through Council venues, with any profits going to charity.
The prizes include:
- First Place: $250 book voucher
- Second Place: $125 book voucher
- Highly Commended: $50 book voucher
- Mayor’s Choice Award: $75 Book Voucher
Christmas Card artwork must include the child’s name, age, parent or guardian’s name and parent or guardian’s contact details.
Entries close on Friday 30 October 2026 and can be submitted in person at any Shoalhaven library, Bay & Basin Leisure Centre, Council administration buildings in Nowra and Ulladulla, or online here.
