Detectives are re-appealing for information as investigations continue into an aggravated break and enter in the state’s South Coast earlier this year.
Around 12:30am on Saturday 18 July 2026, emergency services were called to a carpark at Jack Finkernagel Reserve on Sandpiper Way, Sussex Inlet, following reports of an assault.
Officers attached to South Coast Police District attended and located a man and woman injured nearby.
Police were told a 50-year-old man and two women – aged 33 and 39 – were sitting inside a silver Toyota SUV before three unknown males approached the vehicle.
The males proceeded to remove the 50-year-old man from the vehicle, before demanding his property and seriously assaulting him.
The 33-year-old woman attempted to leave the vehicle on foot before being approached by the three men and assaulted, in which property was also stolen.
The three males then left the scene in the silver Toyota SUV, with the vehicle later found abandoned on Harbord Street, Sussex Inlet.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 50-year-old man and 33-year-old woman for lacerations to the head and bruising before they were taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for treatment. They have since been released.
A crime scene was established and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident under Strike Force Herani.
