The Albanese Government is backing local community groups across Australia, by providing $150,000 in grant funding to every Federal Electorate through the Stronger Communities Program.
Federal Member for Gilmore Fiona Phillips has invited local community groups to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for Round 10 of the long-running and successful program.
With grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 on offer, the program provides funding to community organisations and local governments for infrastructure projects that deliver social benefits for local communities.
Through the previous nine rounds, more than $200 million in funding has supported over 19,000 community–based projects across Australia.
Mrs Phillips said, in 2025, nine local organisations shared in $112,000.
“Last year I was delighted to support organisations across the electorate including Sussex Inlet Marine Rescue, Jamberoo Youth Hall, the Bomaderry Scout Hall, Ulladulla Panthers Football Club and the Moruya Soccer Club,” Mrs Phillips said.
“I’m so proud to have delivered a financial boost to these groups, because the amount of time and effort people in Gilmore pour into their communities is truly inspiring.
“From music stands to website upgrades, projects funded under the Stronger Communities Program can provide a real benefit to local organisations.
“I really encourage community groups to take a look at the application guidelines and submit an expression of interest to my office by 5pm Friday October 30, 2026.”
Successful projects will be nominated by Mrs Phillips and a local community consultation committee, before being independently assessed by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government.
Eligible projects may include building or upgrading community infrastructure, the purchase of equipment for community or sports groups and the purchase and installation of ICT equipment.
