Carol Berry MP will welcome The Hon. Julie Collins MP, Federal Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, to the Southern Highlands.
The Minister and Ms Berry will tour two local farms before hosting ‘The Southern Highlands Agribusiness and Visitor Economy Roundtable’ with leaders from the region’s agriculture, wine, tourism, regenerative farming, agribusiness and equine sectors.
The roundtable will explore the role agriculture plays in the Southern Highlands economy, the growing connection between agriculture and tourism, and opportunities to support future growth across the region.
The Southern Highlands is expected to welcome close to two million visitors this year, a number comparable to Byron Bay.
Much of that growth is being driven by agritourism, including wineries, farm-gate tastings, farm-to-table dining and seasonal events. These experiences connect visitors with local producers while supporting jobs, attracting investment and creating opportunities for accommodation, hospitality and agribusinesses across the region.
