Cricket NSW is today toasting its NSW Blues players and staff after they secured the state’s 13th One-Day Cup title with a thrilling four-wicket victory over Tasmania at Bellerive Oval last night.
The Blues successfully chased Tasmania’s total of 118 with 11 balls to spare in a rain-affected, 22 overs per side clash to lift the Dean Jones Trophy. View the match scorecard.
Captain Kurtis Patterson was awarded the Michael Bevan Award for Player of the Final. His 52 not out in challenging batting conditions demonstrated his leadership and class, and proved the difference in a low-scoring affair.
South Coast batsman Matt Gilkes hit a four and a six on his way to 16 runs from 19 balls.
