The Berrima Gaol redevelopment has been formally lodged by Blue Sox Group as a State
Significant Development (SSD) and is now on public exhibition until 12 November 2025.
The proposal will be assessed by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and
Infrastructure, with the final determination to be made by the NSW Minister for Planning
or the Independent Planning Commission.
Council acknowledges that the redevelopment of this site presents both opportunities and challenges for the Berrima community.
While Wingecarribee Shire Council is not the decision-maker, Council will review the
application and make a formal submission.
