Wingecarribee Remembers

An exhibition paying tribute to Vietnam Veterans and Veterans from conflicts that followed is being staged in the Wingecarribee.

The collection of art and memorabilia, ‘Wingecarribee Remembers’ offers a reflection on the experiences of local veterans and the enduring impact of their service.

Australia’s official war artist in 2011, Ben Quilty will hang his evocative paintings, including poignant portraits of servicemen from Afghanistan, adding a further layer and additional resonance to the exhibition.

Veteran advocate, Danny Miscamble from the Moss Vale RSL Sub-Branch emphasised, “Veterans, including younger veterans, need to know their service is valued.”

Founder of Military Vehicle for Charity Inc, the Nui Dat RnR Museum in Bowral, and 2024 Australia Day Citizen Nominee Vinh Tran, will contribute military memorabilia and a vintage jeep from his collection to the exhibition.

The exhibition will also feature a video interview conducted by 2st Radio personality Ian Holland, with three courageous Vietnam veterans, offering firsthand accounts of their experiences.

Photographs of local veterans will provide a poignant glimpse into the lives of those who have served.

The exhibition, funded by the Federal Government Department of Veteran Affairs, will be held at the Moss Vale Civic Centre’s Atrium exhibition space from May 4th until the end of the month.
