Visitor figures on the improve

There’s been a 66-percent increase in visitors to the Southern Highlands Visitor Information Centre in the past year.

Co-coordinator of tourism and events Libby Bain said they’ve seen growth across all areas.

“We’re getting more people into the visitor centre in Mittagong and they’re spending more in store,

“So our merchandise sales are up,”Ms. Bain said.

Visitor spend in the area is also up between April to June – and in April alone – there’s been an increase of 19-percent compared to last year.
