A young pedestrian has died following an accident last week.
About 3.30pm on Wednesday 11 October 2023, emergency services were called to the intersection of Church Street and Appin Road, Appin, following reports of a crash.
On arrival, officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command were told that a 13-year-old boy had been struck by a truck after getting off a bus.
The boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics on scene before he was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.
The truck driver, a 38-year-old man, was not injured and underwent mandatory testing at Campbelltown Hospital.
A crime scene was established, and investigations commenced into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police have been notified that the boy has now died in hospital.
Investigations are continuing.
