The Rural Fire Service and National Parks and Wildlife Service are in the process of filling an empty 250 000 litre water tank in Guula Gnurra National Park at Canyonleigh.
Around 140,000 litres was pumped from a nearby dam on Saturday.
RFS Spokesperson James Morris said it’s essential they have adequate supplies in times of bushfire.
“A number of locations in the shire don’t have a reticulated water supply, and we’ve been relying on static water supplies such as dams, tanks and pools,
“This resource will be very beneficial,”Mr. Morris said.
