A large number of trees along Cherry Tree Walk in Bowral that are suffering root rot are gradually being replaced.
It comes after the Southern Highlands Vietnam Veterans Association contacted Wingecarribee Council about the issue.
Branches have been sent to a nursery in Victoria where they’re being grown onto better rootstock.
Tree Officer Charlene Ferguson said the trees closest to the swimming pool are the worst affected.
“The location of the Cherry Trees is right next to the rivulet, which quite often floods,
“That has resulted in the root rot increasing over the last few years,”Ms. Ferguson said.
