Wingecarribee Shire Council has announced the theme for its month-long gallery exhibition in February will celebrate ‘Galentine’s Day’, a day for celebrating women’s platonic friendships.
The council is calling on all women or non-binary individuals, who wish to participate and celebrate their friendships, to come into the Civic Centre in Moss Vale throughout February and grab a heart post-it note and pens, write your message or reflection on the heart and stick it on the Atrium wall.
You may wish to add your name, or simply remain anonymous!
The idea for this exhibition was inspired by the recent Charlotte Project sculpture installation in Berrima, inviting as many women as possible to contribute messages expressing how they feel about their friendships with other women.
If anyone wishes to make their own hearts to attach to the wall, this is also possible.
The exhibition runs from 30th January until 1st March 2024.
