Whale experts say it’s anyone’s guess at this stage where a distressed whale is after it hadn’t been seen off the South Coast in recent days.
The humpback with distinct markings was caught up in a rope and water buoy leading to concerns for it’s welfare after swimming south instead of the traditional northerly migration at this time of year.
Jessica Fox from rescue organisation ORRCA said unfortunately there has been no further sightings in recent days.
