Drivers and school students across the Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands are being warned to take extra care as new research highlights growing concern around e-bikes and e-scooters.

More than half of all drivers believe children shouldn’t be allowed to ride e-bikes or e-scooters to school with nearly 4 in 10 saying they should be banned from school zones altogether.

The research also found drivers continue to do the wrong thing in school zones with many admitting they were confused or even deliberately speeding believing it was safe to do so.
Motor Claims Manager at AAMI, Leah James, says the findings serve as a timely reminder to locals ahead of the new school year.
