Little Light Duo Bringing Their Soulful, Contemporary Repertoire to Music Café in Robertson

CTC Robertson is very pleased to welcome back South Coast favourites Little Light Duo to perform at the next Music Café on Saturday 15 June at 2pm. Little Light Duo features vocalist Monique Golightly and guitarist Dave Shaw.

Come and experience their enchanting melodies, where vocalist Monique Golightly and guitarist Dave Shaw come together to immerse your senses in a soulful, contemporary repertoire that spans popular soulful tunes from acclaimed artists old and new.

Monique’s soulful tone finds its perfect match in the versatile guitar skills of Dave Shaw a seasoned blues, jazz, and folk guitarist who began playing at the age of 10. With a musical journey that includes varied Sydney bands like the Jive Bombers, Jr & the Jewel Tones, and the Splayds, Dave brings a rich and diverse background to the duo.

Monique Golightly discovered her passion for singing at the tender age of 5, inspired by many formidable female vocalists.  Sitting way too close to the speakers of her father’s record player in her Coogee lounge room, immersed in such songs as ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina’ over and over.  At 21, she delved into formal education at MI (Musician’s Institute) in Hollywood, California, specialising in vocal studies. Monique also showcased her soloist talents with her duo in Sydney, and gospel choir The Elementals for over a decade.

Performing in the Southern Highlands, Sydney, and the South Coast, including the renowned Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival, Little Light Duo promises a special musical experience. Come along for a casual afternoon of sweet songs accompanied by homemade cake and coffee or a glass of wine.

Music Café is a relaxed space to listen to talented local musicians. The Cafe opens at 1.30pm and the performance runs from 2pm to 4pm with a short break in the middle.
