Young families are now benefitting from the new and expanded Shoalhaven Community Preschool, which has been completed as part of the $438 million Shoalhaven Hospital redevelopment.

NSW Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park said the preschool is located in a brand new purpose-built early education centre at the southern end of the hospital campus, at 11 North Street, Nowra.

Mr Park officially opened the Shoalhaven Community Preschool, which marks a significant milestone in the hospital redevelopment.

“It’s wonderful to see the new and modern preschool up and running, which is providing up to 60 places for young families in the area,” Mr Park said.

“The centre’s close proximity to the Shoalhaven Hospital will support many local health workers and their families, with a dedicated parking zone for carer drop-off.”

Director of the Shoalhaven Community Preschool, Kate Morris, said the new preschool has been relocated just minutes down the road from the hospital, and is easily accessible for staff, parents and children, minimising any disruption.

“We have been working closely with the project team on the new facility every step of the way, so it’s extremely rewarding to see the children thriving in the new space,” Ms Morris said.
