A major road renewal project on Bowral Street has been completed, improving safety, drainage and driving conditions along one of Bowral’s busiest routes.
The $850,000 project was funded through the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery Program.
Completed in May, the works have improved over 350 metres of road outside Bowral and District Hospital, a key gateway into the Bowral town centre.
The section had been identified as being in poor condition, with significant surface deterioration, inadequate drainage and flooding during heavy rainfall.
The project included pavement reconstruction, new asphalt surfacing, drainage improvements, refreshed line marking and signage installation. Council worked closely with the Hospital throughout construction to maintain access for patients, emergency services and bus routes, while minimising disruption wherever possible.
