Tyree Transformers, a proud Australian manufacturer with an 80 year history of
powering our communities, based in Braemar Southern Highlands, is the recipient of a $22 million NSW Government’s Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative grant.
The grant awarded to Tyree Transformers is the largest grant amount announced today by The Hon. Penny Sharpe MLC Minister for Climate Change, Energy, Heritage and the Environment.
Tyree Transformers is one of four successful businesses and projects announced.
Tyree will receive the grant known as the Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative supporting outstanding manufacturing businesses that are stepping up to lead the transition. This grant recognises the critical role that advanced manufacturing plays in delivering our net zero targets, and it backs companies that are ready to innovate, grow, and compete in a decarbonising global economy.
For Tyree Transformers, the grant will enable the company to strengthen its ability to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient transformers that will underpin renewable energy projects across the state and beyond.
Member for Wollondilly Judy Hannan said, “As we expand renewable energy generation from wind and solar to battery storage, we need the infrastructure to connect it, stabilise it, and deliver it to homes and businesses. That infrastructure starts with companies like Tyree.”
