Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is rolling up the doors for its annual Open Day this Saturday, with firefighters urging the community to ensure it has a working smoke alarm in the lead up to winter.
Fire stations across the state will be open from 10am to 2pm on 10 May with a range of free activities including live demonstrations, station tours and free giveaways.
Families can get up close to the fire trucks and rescue equipment, and chat to local firefighters about the simple steps they can take to ‘BE FIRE SAFE’ this winter.
Emergency Services Minister, Jihad Dib said, “Open Day is a wonderful opportunity to get behind-the-scenes access to NSW fire stations and understand the work our firefighters do to keep our communities safe.
“I’d encourage you to head down to your local fire station this Saturday, have some interactive fun, and learn more about how to be ‘fire safe’ and protect you and your loved ones.”
