Witnesses sought over serious assault – Shoalhaven

Police are appealing for information following the serious assault of a 15-year-old girl in the Shoalhaven last week.

About 9.30am on Thursday 12 October 2017, a 15-year-old girl was assaulted by two men whilst walking to work.

Police were told the girl was walking through bushland off Lyndhurst Dive, Bomaderry when she was approached from behind by two men who attempted to gain her attention.

The girl kept walking before she was pulled to the ground by two men wearing balaclavas.

She was repeatedly punched and kicked before the two men left.

The girl later attended Shoalhaven Hospital where she was treated for a fractured sternum.

On Friday 14 October 2017, officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command were notified and launched an investigation.

Detectives would like to speak with two men who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

Both men have been described as being of Caucasian appearance and aged in their 20s.
