The merging of the Far South Coast and Shoalhaven Local Area Commands is now complete with the new entity known as the South Coast Police District.
The new model aims to have more Police on the front line as well as a go person known as the Officer in Charge for the community when it comes to serious issues.
For the Shoalhaven, that's Inspector Deborah O'Reilly and she says she's ready for the challenge.
"The officer in charge of the station will be available to the community and responsible for local issues", Inspector O'Reilly said.
"My role will have a more strategic focus while examining crime within my sectors to ensure that we have effective strategies that we can put in place to combat any issue", she said.
"I'll ensure my staff have sufficient resources to do their job".
