Kiama MP Gareth Ward has spoken of his support for Manildra as the Greens blast a decision to send Nut Coal to the Ethanol Plant at Bomaderry.
Originating from the reopening of a mine in the Blue Mountains, 2.7 million tonnes of the coal will be shipped annually to provide energy for the facility,
Mr Ward says the New South Wales Planning Assessment Commission is a court and he has no power to influence it, but he continues to back the local business and will always support jobs.
"My support is always there for Manildra because they are a local business", Mr Ward said.
"We often see the moral outrage brigade pop their head up and oppose everything, but you know what, there are around 320 families that have food on the table because of that company", he said.
"I'm going to support industry and business that generates jobs in our region".
