Shoalhaven records the district's only new case

The Shoalhaven has recorded the only new COVID-19 case within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District during the 24 hours to 8pm Tuesday.

The cases from the 2541 area was not linked to any known infections, and is being investigated.

There have now been 2,470 local cases of COVID-19 in the health district since the start of the current outbreak in June.

People are reminded to get tested if any symptoms appear, no matter how mild.

These include cold or flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath.

Across NSW there were 216 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours, and one cases acquired interstate.

Three men with COVID-19 also died during the 24 hours - an unvaccinated man in his 30s who had underlying health conditions, an unvaccinated man in his 40s who had no significant underlying health conditions, and a man in his 80 who had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and had underlying health conditions.
