No new Shoalhaven cases for the first time in months

There were no new COVID Cases in the Shoalhaven for the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday - the first time in months that the region has gone a day clear of new cases.

And there were just three new detections throughout the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District - two in Wollongong and one in Shellharbour.

While local numbers are low, health officials are reminding the community to stay vigilant and come forward for testing for even the mildest symptoms.

There have now been 2,431 local cases of COVID-19 in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District since the start of the current outbreak in June.

At 8pm on Sunday the number of patients being treated in the district's hospital as a result of COVID-19 had risen slightly from 17 to 18.
