Four cases in Shoalhaven, none in Kiama

There have been no news COVID cases in the Kama or Wingecarribee Local Government Areas for the fourth straight day.

Shoalhaven recorded four new cases, split evenly between the 2540 and 2541 areas.

One was linked to a known case.

There were 48 new cases in the Shoalhaven for the 24 hours to 8pm Thursday, with 38 of them in Wollongong - 15 linked to known cases.

There were also six new detections in Shellharbour , including three linked to known cases.

There have now been 1,951 local cases of COVID-19 in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District since the start of the current outbreak in June.

At 8pm on Thursday, October 7, there were 42 COVID-19 patients being treated in the district's hospitals.
