Four new COVID-19 cases in the Shoalhaven

Health officials have reported four news COVID cases in the Shoalhaven during the 24 hours to 8pm Tuesday - one of them linked to a known case.

Two of the new cases are among people living in the 2541 postcode, one is from the area covered by the 2540 postcode, and the other is from the 2535 area.

There were no new cases in the Kiama area among the 51 from the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.

They included 42 cases from the Wollongong Local Government Area, 14 of which were linked to known cases, and five from the Shellharbour area - four of them linked to known cases.

The daily figures included the death of a man in his 70s from Wollongong who passed away at Wollongong Hospital.

He had underlying health conditions.

There have now been 1843 local cases of COVID-19 in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District since the start of the current outbreak in June.
