Coronial Inquest into the deaths of three Shoalhaven residents in the 2019 Black Summer Bushfires due to start


The Coronial Inquests into the deaths of three Shoalhaven residents during the 2019 Currowan Black Summer Bushfire is expected to start today.

The Coroner will examine the circumstances surrounding the deaths of 69-year-old Sussex Inlet man Michael Campbell - 75-year-old John Butler senior and 70-year-old Laurie Andrews both from Yatte Yattah.


A Coronial Inquiry into the Currowan Bushfire had previously heard the blaze was ignited by lightning strikes and had jumped the Princes Highway near Lake Conjola on New Years' Eve in 2019.
