Public pools in Nowra and Ulladulla are due to reopen this week.
Changes to health restrictions announced by the State Government last week mean the Nowra Aquatic Park and Ulladulla outdoor pool will reopen ahead of the October long weekend.
The Bomaderry outdoor pool will reopen when maintenance finishes, while the Shoalhaven's sea pools remain open.
Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley said staff were preparing the Nowra Aquatic Centre and Ulladulla outdoor pool so people could enjoy them and the warmer weather over the October long weekend.
And she urged all people attending the pools to follow health restrictions.
"Public Health Orders in relation to COVID-safe plans in our facilities and restrictions on public gatherings remain," Cr Findley said.
"Staff are busy cleaning, training, and ensuring that our outdoor pools will be a safe place for outdoor exercise and recreation.
"We ask residents visiting council’s pools to please comply with both written and verbal instructions.
"With the Public Health Order changing often, it can be confusing, and we are urging everyone to do the right thing,” Cr Findley said.
“Operating our pools in accordance with NSW Health guidelines requires additional safety measures at each facility.
"This increased demand has meant the reopening of all our outdoor pools must be done carefully and in a staged process.
"I encourage everyone to read information on the COVID measures in place before your visit our facilities and follow Council’s website for more updates," Cr Findley said.
Indoor pools and gyms remain closed in accordance with health restrictions.
