The Nowra Riverfront Advisory Taskforce is planning to incorporate the upgrade of the historic Graham Lodge into the precinct makeover.
NSW Heritage Minister Don Harwin joined the taskforce for a tour of the lodge yesterday.
Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock says the State Heritage listed property is in need of some TLC, but has the potential to be a wonderful public building in the heart of Nowra.
"We’re working to ensure this magnificent piece of our history is incorporated into the plans for the Shoalhaven Riverfront precinct," she said.
One of the most historic buildings in Nowra, Graham Lodge was built by leading citizen James Graham in 1861-62.
After it passed from the family it was part of the Nowra/Bomaderry Leagues Club before being purchased by Shoalhaven City Council in 1998.
