The curtains have opened on a new era at Bomaderry Public School with the installation of brand new curtains in the hall.
A former student and the school, State Member for Kiama Gareth Ward was pleased to provide $5779 funding for the new curtains after his mum had noticed the old ones were looking a bit tatty.
Mr Ward said the old curtains were still hanging from when he was at school in the 1990s.
“As a former Bomaderry Primary School student, I am delighted that this funding will go towards upgrading their stage area with new curtains,” he said.
“Bomaderry Public School is a fantastic local school and I would like to acknowledge the Principal Dionne Hanbidge and all of the amazing students, teachers, parents and office staff involved with this school.
“Having attended Bomaderry Primary and Bomaderry High School, I am always keen to assist not only my former schools but all our local schools across the Kiama electorate when they need help.
“I commend the work Bomaderry Primary School does with students with special needs.
“When I was first elected to Parliament, one of the first allocations of funding I was able to secure for Bomaderry Primary School was iPads for a handful of students with a disability to support their interactive learning. I was able to see first-hand the positive difference it was making for them in the classroom.
“And it is quite often little things like that which make a big difference and help students with a disability to reach their full potential.
