Police are praising the behaviour of most people who took part in yesterday's Melbourne Cup celebrations.
Officers from the South Coast Police District carried out patrols of more than 20 license premises across the Nowra area.
There was one incident at Shoalhaven Race Course where a man resisted arrest.
The 32 year old was charged with resist arrest and fail to quit and will face court at a later date.
Nowra District Inspector Dave Cockram says to have no major incidents throughout the day is a fantastic result and a real testament to both the community and the excellent efforts of police.
