The majority of Shoalhaven City Councillors have decided to implement level one water restrictions as of December 1.
This will continue on through the Summer period until there is a significant rainfall event.
Councillor Greg Watson believes it will help save and preserve the region's water supply.
He says it's a good decision given our population will surge over the peak holiday period by 200,000 - 300,000 people.
Council staff will notify residents soon about what the restrictions will entail.
It will likely affect watering lawns and gardens, filling pools and spas, cleaning hard surfaces and cleaning vehicles and buildings.
