Shoalhaven Council staff are recommending that Councillors approve level one water restrictions from next month, whether or not the trigger levels in the Drought Management Plan are met.
Council will make their decision at tonight's Development & Environment Committee meeting which gets underway at 5pm.
Our three dams are currently at around 87 per cent capacity.
However things are looking bleak elsewhere, with more than 98 per cent of the state in drought and Sydney's water storage capacity below 50 per cent.
Council staff are also calling for the drought management plan to be updated.
