Strong wind and fire - not a good combination - but that's what faced RFS volunteers overnight at North Nowra.

Around 9.30 it was all hands on deck with Shoalhaven Heads RFS along with crews from Cambewarra , Broughton Vale - Berry Rural Fire Brigade, West Nowra and Kangaroo Valley Volunteer Rural Fire Brigade and Fire Rescue we’re called to reports of a structure fire at Bangalee.

When they arrived they found a pile burn had escaped and set a small trailer of wood on fire.

At the same time another fire was located further down the same street which turned out to be a large pile of tree stumps alight.

Both were extinguished before they could go any further.

Shoalhaven Heads RFS says the Brigade has been very busy within the last 12 hours with a total of 3 Fire calls.

Make sure if you see a fire to call 000, especially in this wind.
