School students from across the South Coast will be among those skipping class today, pushing for urgent action on climate change.
A march will take place in Nowra beginning at Moorhouse Park from 11am.
The march has divided the community with some people throwing their support behind school children, while others say it's irresponsible.
Australian Parents for Climate Action's Suzie Brown says she is not surprised by the amount of interest.
New South Wales Education Minister Rob Stokes is opposed to the demonstrations.
