More tourists means more wildlife collisions

KANGAROO TRAFFIC

Wildlife volunteers across the Coast and Highlands have been busy over the Christmas/New Year break.

The holiday period sees an increase in visitors to the area, who aren't familiar with our local roads.

Most of the collisions with vehicles involve wombats, Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Wallabies and the occasional Wallaroo.

Richard Woodman from Wildlife Rescue South Coast says there tends to be a spike in the number of callouts they receive.
